Photos by Ted Brown Former resident to hold poetry reading at The Gallery New writer, Joszann St. John (left) will be reading from her first book, Wounded Bird No More, on Tuesday, March 23, 6-7:30 p.m. at Halton Hills Cultural Centre's Gallery. St. John's book, Wounded Bird No More, is a collection of poems, published by Xlibris, to serve as an inspiration for all, especially women and girls. The author says she wrote the book to empower other women as she empowers herself. The poems explore various subject matter including love, life, nature and experiences in Canada and Dominica. One of the more emotional poems Worlds Children showcases the plight of poverty stricken children in Africa. Other poems, such as Toronto and Prince Edward Island capture the essence of places the author has been in Canada. St. John, who lived in Georgetown for nine years, now resides in Toronto. There will be a $5 admission for adults, which will be applied to a book purchase.
