After a long battle with colon cancer, Lyn succumbed to the disease over the past month. Beloved wife of William H. Apgar, caring and loving mother of Jen, Chris, Tim, Ben, and Jon, dear grandmother of Tasman, embracing her extended family Walter, Susanne and their families, a loyal sister of Debbie, Kim, and Jeff, and fond of her cousins and nieces and nephews. Born Carolyn Laidlaw in Toronto, she was predeceased by her parents Rod and Suzanne. Lyn will be lovingly remembered by her close friends, old and new, and missed by her colleagues at Ontario Trillium Foundation and Laidlaw Foundation. Lyn graduated from the University of Toronto in 1971 with a B.A. in Economics, went on to receive her teaching certificate at Simon Fraser University, and later broadened her professional development at Sheridan College and the University of Guelph. Throughout her life Lyn was devoted both to nurturing her family and to the research and funding of social humanitarian causes. She always encouraged her children to forge their own paths and strive to achieve their potentials; in her career, she was valued by her co-workers for her professionalism, dedication, and her passionate sense of philanthropy. Lyn found ways to express her artistic side through photography and knitting, and her need for exploration and adventure through trail-walking and travel. She will ever be an inspiration and greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 21st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at J.S. Andy Hardcastle Taken so suddenly March 24th, 2005 I do not need a special day to bring you to my mind. The days I do not think of you are impossible to find. Each morning when I awake I know that you are gone. Yet each day I feel you near me as I attempt to carry on. My heart still aches with sadness and my tears still flow. Hard to believe it's been 5 years still feels like yesterday ya know. I know that you are always near as true love never dies. I also know you are aware of their deception and his lies. Forever we are a family I won't allow your death to be in vein. My heart and soul died with you and there they shall remain. My thoughts are always with you your place no one can fill. In life I loved you dearly; in death I loves ya still. Wish You Were Here Always and Forever Kim xoxo... P.S. Our hearts still heavy, Our memories strong, And days that seem so very long. We know you guide us everyday, To keep us strong each step of the way, So until we meet again we say. We love and miss you Mom. Always and forever. Sadly missed but never forgotten. Mildred Henstridge, Norma, Dorothy and Jenna Cann OSBORNE, Bert March 23rd, 1999 Today recalls the memory, of a loved one gone to rest. The thoughts of him are endless, to those who knew him best. Our sadness is so great, every event brings him to mind. How great is the pain going on without him, I guess this heals with time. To hear his voice, and see his smile, to sit with him and talk awhile. To be together in the same old way, would be our greatest wish today. Love Always, Rebecca, Matt, and Reilly CRAWFORD, Robert Douglas Wayne - In loving memory of my brother who passed away March 24th, 1994. I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge, That myth is more potent than history, That dreams are more powerful than facts, That hope always triumphs over experience, That laughter is the only cure for grief, And I believe that love is stronger than death. Take my hand; and lead me to salvation. Take my hand; for love is everlasting. And remember, the truth that once was spoken: To love another person is to see the face of God.
