Brierley, a member of the Bearcats cross country team, was selected for her positive attitude and steady improvement throughout the past season. Kri, who plays centre on the Bearcats hockey team, was chosen for scoring three goals in a 7-1 win over Halton Police in an exhibition game. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Sarah Chapin and Haley Besworth. Both are members of the Rebels badminton team, and were honoured for their win in the Volpe division in the senior ladies doubles division. They advance to the number one seed, competing at E.C. Drury in the Haltons. Christ the King Catholic High School Athletes of the Week are badminton players Kristen Flikkema and Zach Pearson. Flikkema, a Grade 12 student in her third year on the Jaguar team, had a good showing at the recent Kitchener Resurrection tournament in the singles' category. Pearson paired up with Sarah Hickman to finish second in mixed doubles at the E.C. Drury tourney, edged out by Notre Dame in the final.
