Photo by Eamonn Maher Chargers moving forward Georgetown's Centennial Chargers are the lone Halton Hills team to advance to this week's regional final-four playdowns after defeating rival Stewarttown in the North Halton Tier I elementary school girls' basketball final. The Chargers took a big lead early on and the result was never in doubt, as Lindsay Kirby had a dozen points for the winners in a 32-15 final. Steph Wilson chipped in eight points for the victory. Centennial will face East Division-champion Post's Corners of Oakville in one semifinal tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. at E.C. Drury High School in Milton. The winner moves on to Thursday's Halton championship match at Oakville's White Oaks beginning at 7 p.m. At the North Halton Tier II finals last week in Milton, the Bruce Trail Blazers defeated Georgetown South's Silver Creek Stars 28-15 in the girls' championship game. Emily Skilling led the Stars with seven points. In the boys' Tier II final, Milton's Chris Hadfield Hawks downed the Gardiner Grizzlies of Georgetown South 37-28. Gardiner held an 18-17 thirdquarter lead. Brandon Paul scored 11 points and Jacob Hector added eight more for the Grizzlies.
