"People in our communities are thrilled to be supporting something as positive as the Conservation Gala, which helps fund so many local environmental projects," said Lisa Penny, CHF Chair. Proceeds from the 2010 Conservation Gala will support Credit Valley Conservation's Conservation Youth Corps program that allows high school students to help the environment by planting trees, constructing habitat and maintaining trails and Conservation Halton's Mountsberg Raptor Centre that provides care and shelter for 30 native hawks, owls and eagles, including Teddy the owl. The Conservation Gala features a gourmet meal with local produce, Ontario VQA wines, as well as a live and silent auction with great prizes. Items up for bidding include a four-day ski package to Banff-Lake Louise, getaway packages to Prince Edward County and Collingwood, a week-long stay at the Lifestyle Crown Resort in Puerto Plato, Dominican Republic, a front of the line opportunity to purchase a wagon at Mountsberg's popular Christmastown, golf and wine packages ... and much more. Tickets for the Gala are $125 each, with tables of 10 for $1,200. A partial tax receipt is provided. Tickets are available by contacting Sharlene Hardwar, 905-6701615, ext. 247 or Brian Hobbs, 905-336-1158 ext. 255. Conservation Halton and Credit Valley Conservation are dedicated to protecting the environment within their watersheds to ensure the health and long term resilience of our water, forests, and wildlife communities.
