N.) will be hosting a free barbecue Saturday, May 1 in support of the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride in September. Georgetown's Dave Swindells and Mark Burger and Acton's Paul O-HaraHoke will be among the 48 cyclists who will pedal 7,000 kilometres across Canada (Vancouver-Halifax) from Sept. 9-23 in support of childhood cancer charities. The riders' goal is to raise $2 million. Saturday's barbecue, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is being held to raise awareness of the national ride and the cause. Free hotdogs and drinks, balloons, and face painting will also be available and there will be a draw to win a lawnmower. Burger and Swindells will also be in attendance to accept any donations.
