Last year's walk raised $260,000: the most money ever brought in at any ALS Walk in Canada. Organizers and volunteers gathered at the Real Canadian Superstore on April 12 to answer questions and hand out pledge forms for the second annual walk. Hundreds of runners woke up bright and early on a chilly Sunday morning to participate in the annual Spring Into Motion Run at the Gellert Centre. The morning started with a one-kilometre fun run for the kids and was followed by a five-kilometre run/walk through Georgetown South. The event, which was hosted by Feet In Motion, raised money for the Georgetown District High School Field of Dreams project. Great job, runners! RIGHT: Brian and Doreen Krysa welcome guests to the annual dinner. The stars were out at The Club at North Halton on April 17 at the 11th annual Cystic Fibrosis Dinner. Guests were treated to a delicious meal, live music and an extensive silent auction where they used celebrity aliases to place bids. This year's dinner was hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Georgetown, who stepped in to continue the amazing work done by original organizers Shelley Phipps and Gail Bancroft. Approximately $24,000 was raised for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
