Scouts, Guides and Calvinist Cadets in Acton were very busy on April 10 as they collected hundreds of food items during their annual food drive. With the help of their parents and leaders, the kids picked up boxes, bins and bags of items that Acton residents left outside their homes and brought them to Acton Scout Hall where volunteers sorted and weighed the donations. The kids collected about 6,660 pounds of food and $626.75 for the Acton Foodshare, a food bank that serves the people of Acton. After a successful season on the ice, the talented young members of the Georgetown Skating Club got to spend time together away from the rink at the club's annual Awards Banquet. The skaters, coaches and their families gathered at the Gellert Centre's Kinsmen Hall on April 24 where they enjoyed a delicious meal, received their awards and danced the night away. Bravo!
