Man attempts to lure youth into car Halton Regional Police are investigating a report of a suspicious man in Acton who tried to order a young boy into his vehicle Thursday afternoon. About 3:30 p.m. a 12-year-old Acton boy was delivering newspapers on Mill St. W. on his bicycle when a man in a silver, four-door vehicle pulled up beside him and ordered him to get into his car, police report. The boy didn't stop or talk to the man, but instead rode home to tell his parents. Police checked the area but could not find the man. The man in the car is described as white, 5'8" to 6' tall, with short hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt and was possibly in a 2006 to 2009 four-door silver vehicle with an Ontario licence plate. Halton Police recommend parents review street safety precautions discussed in school with their younger children, to reinforce the school safety program. They recommend parents tell their children to: · Play safe and play together. Do not play in remote areas of parks, or take shortcuts through the woods. · Do not loiter on the way to or from school. · Do not go anywhere with a stranger, and do not accept rides for any reason.
