Zuha'a demonstrates leadership, initiative, motivated and dedication to the advocacy of youth. In her community she is currently involved with the Mayor's Youth Action Committee, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Halton's Homework club, Zuha'a Khan she volunteers at South Georgetown Medical Clinic nic and the sports & recreation centre, and she is a loocal radio host. In her school Zuha'a is involved with h student parliament, morning announcements and d Hearts for Haiti. Her passion, positive attitude and d ability to motivate her fellow youth has made a huge impact in many people's lives. Kevin Linnard, a student at Georgetown District High School, is a participant at Links2Care's Open Door Youth Dropin Centre. Kevin actively volunteers at the Youth Centre during his lunch time by assisting with the concession stand and the completion of daily statistics. He possesses a creative sense Kevin Linnard of humor and is a positive role model to his peers by being a polite, compassionate and respectful individual. In addition, Kevin actively volunteers in Acton's air cadets squadron, and takes great pride in the skills he has learned and the work which he completes with the cadets. Recently Gordon has participated in the Acton Skills competition, the Halton Region's "Be a Hero" affordable housing contest where he received a bronze medal for his work, and the design exchange contest for environmentally-friendly consumer products. With the hope of incorporating "green" into to everything, he participated in the Green Wave ve where trees were planted across the globe at the he same time and in addition, he designed and d created a recyclable and re-buildable pair of casual shoes. Julia Seiler Julia Seiler is a student at Acton District High Scho School who demonstrates leadership, self-motivatio vation, and perseverance. Jul Julia has been involved in many fundraising e events such as the Relay for Life, to raise m money for cancer research and McDonald's M McHappy Day, raising money for the develo opment of Ronald McDonald Houses. In addition to her contributions to her community, she possesses a great skill in photography. She is involved in regional competitions for her photography and is involved with her school's yearbook committee. Julia's photography has also allowed her to volunteer taking photos for events such as school craft shows and Santa Claus pictures. Congratulations from Michael Chong, M.P. Wellington - Halton Hills Maeve Sharkey Maeve Sharkey is a student at Christ the King Secondary School who demonstrates leadership and confidence through her community and school involvement. Maeve is an active member of the school's choir and semi-formal committee and has recently assumed the role of Student Council president where she demonstrates, commitment, organization and leadership to her fellow peers. She is involved in the theatre life of her community with her role in the Georgetown Children's Chorus us and local plays like Beauty & the e Beast and The Wizard of Oz.
