Forty years later, Judith is still happy with her decision and with her new position as the manager of Wilson Pool and Hot Tub Supplies. Formerly known as Wilson Acadian Pools, the Georgetown business sells and services a full line of pool and hot tub equipment and supplies. In-store services at the store's 55 Armstrong Avenue location include water testing and advice, as well as chemical and equipment sales. Wilson Pool and Hot Tub also has friendly technicians who visit clients to install liners, filters and pumps; do repairs; and open and close pools. Of all the work they do, Judith and staff pride themselves on their friendly and knowledgeable customer service. "If somebody has a difficult problem, we gather our forces together to find the answer they need. We can help them straighten out water problems like algae, or pH or alkalinity problems in salt or chlorine systems," Judith says. "We have a lot of nice, down-to-earth people who come in. They're some of the best customers you could ever want." 17 Independent & Free Press, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 SHOPLOCAL SHOP SMART... SHOP HALTON HILLS Therapy Thoughts Natalie Haynes knew she wanted to be a psychotherapist after a therapist helped her through a difficult time in her life. "I was terrified to go, but my therapist gave me the opportunity to see my life in a different way," she says. Natalie became a psychotherapist three years ago and has been working out of the Cornerstone Health Centre since August of last year. She provides a safe, comfortable, supportive environment and an objective ear to help her clients work through their problems. She helps her clients with depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem and relationship issues. Her goal is to guide her clients to uncover, release and move through underlying emotional blocks. "I give people permission to understand all the different parts of themselves and the freedom to be who they are," Natalie says. The first step in opening up and sharing with a psychotherapist can be challenging. Natalie wants you to know that psychotherapy is a positive process toward understanding your emotional wellbeing. Sessions are confidential and safe, where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. "Sharing your inner thoughts and feelings can be difficult, but once you do, the heaviness lifts," she says. "I love sitting with a client as they work through a challenge in their life. I consider it a privilege and an honor to help a client gain a new awarness and discover more choice about how they live their lives." She had been working at The Cash Store location in Brampton and was looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since the Georgetown branch opened three months ago, Barb has found Halton Hills' small-town atmosphere to be just what she was looking for. "I love it here," she says. "The people are so friendly. It's unbelievable. I like the small-town feeling." Instaloans is a Canada-wide business that will cash any cheque and will provide payday loans, title loans based on car value and financing based on potential future court settlements. We also give loans to people who have money coming in once a month such as disability and pension. The company offers bank accounts. Rather than give their clients a stack of cash, Instaloans puts the money on a pre-paid MasterCard that offers the benefits of a credit card without the drawbacks and fees of a bank-issued card. "I don't know of any other store that does that," Barb says. "I love helping people and giving everybody the chance to have the extra money they need." Instaloans is located at 140 Guelph Street in Georgetown. For more information, call 905-595-2536. Jenni Veneruz, a Registered Physiotherapist with specialized training in Vestibular Rehabilitation can help. As the owner and operator of In Focus Vestibular Rehabilitation, Jenni provides rehabilitation for people with inner ear disorders. Since opening her business in 2007, Jenni has helped more than 200 clients with problems ranging from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) to inner ear viruses like Labyrinthitis. For those suffering from BPPV, she performs a head manoeuvre to guide the crystals of the inner ear back into place. Clients notice improvement in just one or two visits. After viral inner ear infections, she helps clients with exercises to retrain their balance and vision. Since Jenni is one of the few Canadian physiotherapists with specialized vestibular training, she has had clients come from as far away as Thunder Bay and Alberta for treatment. For the most part, she treats her clients in the comfort of their own homes, but does treat out-of-towners at her house. A doctor's referral is not required and treatment is covered by most extended healthcare plans. "I like how drastically I can change how somebody feels," Jenni says. "When someone is experiencing inner ear problems, it's very hard for other people to understand because it's not like a broken leg: you can't see it. I can help them feel better quickly and get back to what they enjoy doing." Kabinet Pro When it comes to kitchen and bathroom renovations, Margaret Olah likes to think outside the box.
