Wow support for Georgetown Seniors Centre By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Wow! Our Centre has sure been one busy place for the last few weeks with special events, the Yard Sale, Pancake Breakfast, Come Shop With Us Event, Fashion Show, Car Wash and Mom2Mom Sale. It takes two main ingredients to make events like this successful. The first ingredient is the volunteers who cook, serve, clean up, sell, and even model. To all of those who assisted in any way we offer our sincere thanks and appreciation. The other ingredient is the public who come into the Centre and offer their support. To each of you we say thanks and look forward to seeing you at any of our events. It should be noted it was the first time many people had been in our Centre. They were quite impressed to see what a wonderful space we have and some might be even looking to their future with us. We are looking for two members of the Centre interested in sitting on our space needs implementation committee. Please leave your name with Terri in the office. A reminder that the Centre is closed on Monday, May 24 for Victoria Day Celebrations. This year the holiday actually comes on the day. What a great beginning to Seniors' Month-- the ever popular Variety Night on Tuesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Drama Club. It always proves to be an evening of great talent and fun. Mingle and Chat gets into the act on June 2 with another of their Fun Auctions. Bring a wrapped gift. The maximum you can bid is $5.
