Georgetown The Rebels capped off another successful season in Halton high school athletics with their awards night recently. Major award winners, front row, from left, are: Jackie Woroniuk (Student Athletic Council Award); Kristen Davison (Rick Redshaw Rebel Award); Sarah Racinsky (Gord Barwell Award-- junior girls' athlete of the year); Jenn Ormiston (Rebel Spirit Award); Laura Crawford (Lyn McLaren Award-- all-around contribution). Back row: Brandon Elliott (Student Athletic Council Award); Tory McCracken (Shirley White Award-- senior girls' athlete of the year); Lindsay McCabe (Paul Legge Award-- 94% academic standing); Mitch Racinsky (Jim Hall Award-- senior boys' athlete of the year); Alex Garvey (Bill Bingham Award-- junior boys' athlete of the year); Nicole Bond (Fred Kotani Award-- sportsmanship). Christ the King At left, are the Jaguars' athletes of the year, beginning with senior boys' standout Chris King (football, basketball, soccer), while Nicole Waters (centre, basketball & soccer) and Camilla Paluch (basketball, track & field) shared for the junior girls' award. At right, Sarah Hickman (badminton, basketball, volleyball, softball, track & field) is CtK's senior girls' athlete of the year, while Grade 10 student Tyler Renton earned the junior boys' award in part for earning a gold medal at the Ontario championships in the javelin throw.
