Moving On: Growing UP and Closer to God teven Prestipino, an operating partner at Express Employment Professionals, began volunteering many years ago as a sports coach, working with the Children's Miracle Network and supporting his partners Christine and Ray Menard's Shosholoza Foundation in South Africa. As a member of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, he sits on the Manufacturer's Round table and Chairs the Golf Committee. Steven believes that the benefits of volunteerism are far reaching. The biggest benefit is that it will have a ripple effect on many others in the community and it makes you feel good. "It's important to give back to the community and businesses in the community," he says. "For every person we help, we help four other people. When we help a person find work, for example this impacts on family, friends and colleagues." So it's a full circle win for everybody. Volunteering is much the same: it has an impact on more than the person or organization assisted. "At Express Employment Professionals we ask every employee to volunteer for at least one committee or community-based activity," Steven says. When asked what advice he'd give a company that wants to promote volunteerism he offered, "When you do your planning for the year, budget time for volunteering as this is often done during work hours." We thank Steven and all of the employees at Express Employment Professionals who contribute many hours to the business community and the community at large. Thank you John for your dedication and much appreciated contributions! Leaders Wanted Are you passionate about families and children? Whether you have experienced divorce first hand or not, we could use your help in ministering to these precious children. Contact us if you are interested in volunteering!
