Page 13 Georgetown Fall Fair Prize List BATTLE OF THE BANDS Come join us this year for our second annual Georgetown fall fair "Battle of the Bands. " Only 5 bands are allowed to sign up for the event, and only one will win. If you and your band think you have what it takes to be crowned "Georgetown's best band" , then be sure to sign up today by emailing martinmediaproductions@ yahoo.com with your band name, band member's names and telephone contact. First place is 5 hours of studio time at the legendary Escarpment Sound Studio and $250 Cash. What's New at the Fair? We added lots of free activities to entice you to come to the fair! Fair Theme: The theme this year is "Lady Bugs", so make sure you come and see the lady bug farm in the Homecraft building near the Children's Craft Centre. Come and take part in the lady bug scavenger hunt in the building as well and see if you can find them in and among the displays. New for Seniors: Enjoy our "Young at Heart" Seniors on Sunday, September 12 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Enjoy crafts and cookies. Let's play in the sand! It's new! It's fun and your children will enjoy playing in our large pile of sand. Parents can take a break and let the children play. In entertainment We have new performers with the Goodman Brothers offering Classic Rock on the main stage on Saturday, Johnnie and Phatt Cats offering 50 and 60's Rock and Roll on the main stage on Sunday and The Amazing Daring Derek on both Saturday and Sunday in the Children's Centre. Agricultural Awareness Tent The Agricultural Awareness tent is a must see during your visit to the fair! New this year is our Children's activity centre in the Kid's Corral. Also enjoy seeing cows, chickens, sheep, horses and pigs; learn about actual farm animals on loan for you to see. On Saturday watch the 4-H Rabbit Club Achievement Day. Every day there will be scheduled milking demonstrations and agricultural learning activities. See you in the Agricultural Awareness Tent.... the BIG tent! What's new on the Midway! New affordable rates! Every ride is one ticket. Ticket price is $3.00 each or eight tickets for $20.00 (a $4.00 saving). We will have fourteen to sixteen rides available. Ride special on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm all rides will be $2.00 each. FALL FAIR IDOL So you think you can sing? Then come prove it at the Georgetown Fall Fair Idol.
