MTO is currently studying possibilities for a new GTA West transportation corridor from Hwy. 400 to Hwy. 401. Two recently released preferred options for further study include 4-2 and 4-3. The first, 4-2, proposes a highway from Hwy. 400 across north Brampton/south Caledon then following the Halton-Peel north-south highway corridor through Halton Hills along Tenth Line connecting to Hwys. 401/407. It follows the same path that was proposed in the Halton-Peel Boundary Area Transportation Study. The second, 4-3, proposes a similar highway, except it would be extended across Halton Hills, south of 10 Sideroad, connecting with Hwy. 401 at Tremaine Rd. in Milton. MTO's study consultant has told the Town that this was preferred solution at this time. The sevenweek program (now in it's third week) is a fundraiser in aid of Upper Credit HUmane Society, and participants are asked to donate $5, or bring along a donation of pet food. To date, the program has raised $683 plus donations of cat and dog food. Anyone wishing to take part can show up at the Rotary Band Shell Thursdays at 7 p.m. Participants can rent a mat, or bring their own. Participants range in age from teens to 80-year-olds.
