PAGE 4 1 Georgetown Little Theatre Tuesday, September 21, 2010 GLT 50TH ANNIVERSARY Special Commemorative Section GLT plans full season of plays and activities By SAM HANCOCK Georgetown Little Theatre This fall, Georgetown Little Theatre celebrates 50 years award-winning professionalquality theatre. To kick off its 50th Anniversary Season, GLT will host an open house this Saturday, Sept. 25, (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at its Studio, 33 Stewarttown Rd. Tour the studio, watch improv, see a set built, maybe have a burger. GLT Youth Company is on hand painting faces. GLT's 50th season opens with the thriller, Wait Until Dark. A blind woman is stalked by criminals in this electrifying thriller full of terrifying twists and nail-biting suspense. The play runs Nov 4-6, Nov. 10-13, at John Elliott Theatre. Opening night on Nov. 4 will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. New this season, GLT presents two oneact plays in our studio: Lunch Hour by John Mortimer and The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter on Dec. 9-10, (showtime 8 p.m.) and on Dec. 11 (showtime 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.) For their second show, Bedtime Stories, GLT moves to a temporary venue at Christ The King School, 161 Guelph St. CtK is kindly sharing their theatre for the remainder of GLT's season as the reconstruction of the Halton Hills Cultural Centre and Library begins in 2011. Bedtime Stories, by Norm Foster, is a sextet of interconnected comedies definitely for grown-ups and runs February 25-26 and March 2-5, 2011 (curtain time 8 p.m.). Also brand new in 2011 ­ matinees! Bedtime Stories's 2 p.m. matinee is on February 27. GLT's final show is Enchanted April, a gentle drama about four very dissimilar women in 1920s England who holiday together at a secluded Italian villa.
