Age: 55 Occupation: Accountant / office administrator Past elected experience: None Why I am running: I am running in this election because I want to make a difference in Halton Hills. I believe accountability is a critical part of the democratic process and that BRIDGET the best way for me to support ROSSER that is to run as a councillor in my home ward. As Georgetown grows, I want to ensure that planning, development and decision-making processes consider all groups in the community and match their needs, resources and aspirations with housing, recreation facilities, health services and options to support the implementation of the Green Plan. I have enjoyed contributing in a volunteer capacity to the community over the last 20 years. I respect public service and I want to put some of that experience back. I believe I have the knowledge, skills and abilities to do so in Ward 3. Downtown Georgetown's new tagline is "Your treasure awaits". I want to ensure we remember that our downtown is for businesses, residents and visitors and recognize the neighbourhood as a whole in order to make it the treasure we want it to be. I am running to encourage Ward 3 to Vote For A Change. DAVE KENTNER BusiexpeHills Trust- Age: 65 Occupation: Retired social caterer Past elected experience: Ward 3 Councillor 2006-2010 Why I am running: Dave Kentner is running in this election because: First, thank you Ward 3 for the privilege of serving this past term and to The Independent & Free Press for this opportunity to Why I am running: I am running again in this election because in 2006 the Catholic voters of Halton Hills voted for a change-- a renewed vision. This past term, we have embarked on a renewed vision within the board with the hiring of a new Director of Education and several new senior staff. We have developed a renewed vision and strategic plan. I believe that taxpayers must have a trustee that represents the taxpayer-- taxpayers who are made up of a wide range of people. Voters need a representative that brings an un-biased, "nostrings attached", objective viewpoint to decision making. Trustees are required to set board policy and ensure that the board complies with the policy. We are asked to make difficult decisions that affect board staff and students. I am able to make those difficult decisions, without any conflicts of interest, because I do not have any family working in the board, I am not a former teacher, nor a former board employee. Allow me to complete the board renewal we have begun, and let me continue serve you, the taxpayer, free of any conflicts of interest. Thank you for your support.
