Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) has recruited Dr. Kevin Kwan to provide specialized urological care and surgery at both Georgetown and Milton District Hospitals. He's the sole provider of urology services at both hospitals. The newly created joint position provides both hospitals with enhanced urology coverage. Kwan joined HHS in August and recently opened an office in Milton. Kwan earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2005 and recently graduated from McMaster University's five-year Urology Residency Program. He's certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is also Clinical Associate Professor for Urology at McMaster University where he teaches current medical residents. Kwan has expertise in providing a full range of urological care and surgeries including minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures to treat prostate, bladder and kidney cancer and perform reconstructive kidney surgery. "I have had significant exposure to laparoscopy in addition to the open surgical and urinary stone cases. I also have a special interest in advanced laparoscopic oncology," said Kwan. "MDH and GH have so much potential. I look forward to growing my practice and offering a wider range of more advanced urological procedures."
