6 Looking Back, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 Grandview House Grandview House, located at 56 Queen St., in Georgetown was built in 1880 by Mr. Goodwillie, a lawyer from Toronto who was perhaps one of the town's first commuters. The house had 28 rooms, tennis courts and bowling greens. The property was sold in 1906 to H.T. Arnold, who operated a glove manufacturing business in both Acton and Georgetown. As there was little demand for mansions in the 1930s, the home was converted to apartments by J.B. MacKenzie in 1937, and has remained an apartment building.
