10 Looking Back, Tuesday, November 9, 2010 Shepherd's Crook 86 Main St. S. The building hosting the Shepherd's Crook pub at 86 Main St. S. was built in 1879 and began operation as a hardware store. Goodlet's (below) operated a hardware and appliance store out of the location for 60 years before closing in 2000. The heritage building had only been owned and operated by two families in that time. The Shepherd's Crook began operation in 2002 and remains a popular downtown eatery. File photos 505 Guelph St., Norval Samuel Webster (1842-1928) arrived in Norval in 1865 and not only practiced medicine in the village but served as a councillor, reeve and deputy reeve. After retiring from medicine in 1909 he became sheriff. He built the frame house which now houses several business at 505 Guelph St. in Norval. Photo by Ted Brown Glen Town Hall More than 139 years ago Charles Williams deeded land for the citizenry of Glen Williams to build a community hall.
