Deane Parkes, president of Preferred Nutrition, said his company could be facing about a $6 million loss in its annual revenue because he wouldn't be able to sell some his most popular products in Canada without reformulating them as of February/March 2011 when the compliance and enforcement of the regulations of natural health produces is to begin. Parkes and several other representatives from the natural health product industry including Louisa McCarly of Willow Lane Natural Foods in Acton and Richard DeSylva of The Herb Works in Rockwood met with Wellington Halton-Hills MP Michael Chong to voice their concerns about the regulations and how Health Canada is evaluating the products. To evaluate the claims of a product, Parkes said the government is using the same model it uses to test drugs. See CHONG, pg. 3 REFINANCING? PURCHASING?
