Art Effects offers a wide variety of frames Continued from pg. 1 When it comes to mats, there are hundreds of colours to choose from. Whether you're looking at suedes, black core or fabrics, all mats should be 100 per cent acid free, cotton or cellulose. Unlike paper mats, they will not discolour the artwork over time and will resist fading. Glass is also a very important in the preservation of your art or document. Options include regular glass, nonglare, UV conservation clear or UV non-glare. The UV coating cuts out 97 per cent of the harmful ultraviolet rays from daylight and lighting. It is more expensive than regular glass, but is a great investment. "Don't be afraid to ask questions and feel comfortable with your framer," Longhurst says. "The reason you came to frame something is because it's valuable to you, no matter what it is."
