Legion Ladies Auxiliary to celebrate Christmas By JANET MALLOY Georgetown Legion Ladies Auxiliary What a wonderful, festive atmosphere we had at our Annual Christmas Bazaar on November 20th. It was successful due to the generous donations from our own Ladies Auxiliary members and of course to you, all the people who came out to support our Bazaar, I would like to say thank you very much. A special thank you to the following: Sheila Kirk, Sharon Middleton, Cindy Mowat and her lovely daughter Stephanie and Helen Parry, your generous donation of time is very much appreciated. A big round of applause goes to Ev Metler who is our Bazaar convener and we are so lucky to have her! Our Christmas potluck is Thursday, December 16th, starting at 7 p.m. So come on girls, let's get together to sing Christmas carols. Condolences to the family with the passing of Comrade Mae Tost who was a life membership with the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 120; she joined in 1942. Thinking of you to our Comrades who are shut-ins and/or under the weather, we think of you often. 15 Independent & Free Press, Thursday, December 2, 2010 Brunch with Santa to benefit Cystic Fibrosis `Tis the season to be busy. For some it's already taking a toll. "We got a call from Santa", says Kathleen Paterson, Food and Beverage Manager, Eagle Ridge Golf Club. "He was looking for an exotic southern destination to unwind prior to his big day. Naturally he thought of Halton Hills". Santa will be coming to Eagle Ridge Golf Club on Tenth Line, on Sunday, December 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In order to help Santa recharge his batteries, a brunch will be served. The festive holiday buffet features carved turkey, ham and roast beef accompanied by all the traditional holiday favourites. Of course, Santa always has children on his mind. There will be a gingerbread cookie decorating and an arts and crafts station for any visitors who would like to meet Santa. Tickets are $34.95 for adults, $14.95 for children over five, and free for children five and under. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For reservations please contact Kathleen Paterson at 905-877-8468 ext. 2223 or email kpaterson@clublink.ca
