Elvis was in the building at Eagle Ridge Golf Club on December 1 when the local branch of the Catholic Women's League hosted their annual Christmas Social. After enjoying a delicious meal and taking care of a little bit of business, the ladies were entertained by Elvis impersonator Jay Zanier, who performed classics like "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and "Can't Help Falling in Love." Elvis had the sold out crowd on their feet and singing along. Thank you, thank you very much. Photos by Andrea Lefebvre Erin Bryan (left) and Nancy Rowe check out a display of Christmas ornaments. The Downtown Spa and Relaxation Centre, located at 185 Mountainview Road North in Georgetown, was abuzz with activity recently when the business hosted an open house and fundraiser. Dozens of people enjoyed a fun evening out at the spa with refreshments, displays, vendors and minimassages. Spa owner Dorri Bland also used the open house to kick off a fundraising initiative called Dollars for Debbie, which raised money for Debbie Knoepfli, a local woman who spent much of the last year in the hospital with a mysterious full-body infection. Anyone who made a donation was entered in a draw to win one of four spa treatments. Photos by Andrea Lefebvre Serving Georgetown for over 16 years!
