Town seeks public input in development of 2031 transportation plan The Town of Halton Hills wants your input to assist in the development of the 2031 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) through an online survey. The Town, with their consultant Hatch Mott MacDonald, has initiated a study to develop an integrated transportation plan that will consider different modes of travel (vehicle, cycling, walking). The project will define the existing problems and opportunities, consider and evaluate solutions, and identify an optimum transportation system that can accommodate the existing and future developments. "The Transportation Master Plan is a wonderful opportunity for our community to retain its unique character, while allowing for the evolution of a sustainable transportation system," said Mayor Rick Bonnette. "I encourage the community to be involved in this important process and complete the survey." A public opinion survey is now available online at www.haltonhills. ca. Follow the links and you will be directed to the survey through Survey Monkey. Chris Mills, the Director of Infrastructure Services and Town Engineer, urges all to participate, saying, "The Transportation Master Plan is a valuable tool for the development of an efficient transportation system to 2031." To also help the public get involved, the Town is planning two Public Information Centres (PICs). The first is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10, at Mold-Masters SportsPlex. It will be an open house format starting at 6 p.m. with a presentation at 7 p.m. by the consultant on the project progress. All those on the mailing list will be advised of the upcoming events; should you wish to be added to the project mailing list, contact Ted Drewlo, manager of Engineering Services, 905-873-2601 ext. 2313, tedd@haltonhills.ca or John McGill, Hatch Mott MacDonald project manager, 905-403-4403, John.
