Anna is a longtime resident of Georgetown with strong family ties to the community. Along with her husband, they reside in town and she looks forward to a long term relationship with all of our patients. Dr. Hirst and the familiar staff at GDC are still here with business as usual at the same location, offering the same hours. All patients who have attended Georgetown Dental Clinic can be assured, all of our Dental Hygienists and their continuing care programs remain unchanged. We look forward to introducing you to Dr. Primus. She is accepting new patients and emergencies as well as providing dental care to many of our existing patients. The Metrolinx Board of Directors approved the staff recommendation Wednesday to begin electrification of the Georgetown and Lakeshore GO transit rail corridors. The board recommended to the Province the phased electrification plan beginning with the new Air Rail Link on the Georgetown line as the first phase. "Electrification will provide important transportation benefits to our current and future riders," said Metrolinx Chair, Rob Prichard. "Electrification is an essential step towards the long-term vision of Express Rail laid out in the Big Move." Electrification would shave some time off commutes (on average 2.4 and 2.8 minutes per passenger trip, longer trips Electrification of line is a GO would see journey time savings between 5 and 10 minutes), however, local riders won't see that benefit for several years as it will take that long before electrification of the line would be complete. Electrifying the corridors would cost $1.6 to $1.8 billion, with a phased implementation. The first phase-- the Air Rail Link- would be $457 million. Preliminary design, engineering and environmental assessments would take three to four years. Construction from Union Station to Pearson Airport (on the Georgetown line) and out to Willowbrook on Lakeshore West would take another four to six years. Electrifying the line to Brampton would take another two to three years, and longer to Georgetown.
