Mountainview Residence retirement home, owned and operated by Christoph and Ursula Summer, officially opened the doors of its new Mountainview Terrace building last month with a ribbon cutting, tours and refreshments. The celebration also marked the tenth anniversary of Phase 1, Mountainview Residence, which opened in December 2000. At the celebration, Christoph thanked the community of Halton Hills for accepting the Summer family into the community and making the past decade so enjoyable. Marley Backman and Lorne Hunter, the first two residents of the Terrace, participated in the ribbon cutting. Backman expressed her pleasure with the new building saying, "It feels like home. It was a longer wait than expected, but it was well worth it." The new Terrace building is geared towards self-sufficient seniors.
