Joseph has a severe and rare neurological condition that has left him in a vegetative state. He is on life support at London Health Sciences Centre and his parents Moe Maraachli and Sana Nader have been fighting to stop the removal of the baby's ventilator since doctors recommended the child be taken off life support in November. They want doctors to perform a tracheotomy so their baby can spend his final days at home. Doctors have refused, saying that it's not in the baby's best interest. Fedor said she met with the parents earlier this week and their wish is have as many people as possible aware of their situation. So in an effort to support the family and help bring "Baby Joseph" home Fedor and others are planning a rally Saturday (March 5) between noon and 2 p.m. outside of the London hospital at the corner of Wellington Rd. S. and Commissioners Rd. E. in London, Ontario. Another rally is planned for Saturday as well at 4 p.m. at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn and Conference Centre, 591 Wellington Rd. S., London in the Chelsea ballroom. At that rally the keynote speaker will be Bobby Schindler, brother of Terri Schiavo and founder of Life & Hope Network. Another rally in support of the family is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (Mar. 6) outside of the hospital (corner of Wellington Rd. S. and Commissioners Rd. E. in London). "We're trying to unite as many people as possible to stand in support of the Maraachli family," said Fedor, formerly of Georgetown, but now an Erin resident. "As a mother I have followed the news stories and I just can't possibly imagine being in their situation and not having others come to help."
