Georgetown Seniors Centre ready to Spring into a busy April By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre Many thanks to all who participated in any way to the "Winter Blues" stew luncheon held on Monday, March 14. Good food, good times, and good company were all part of its success. The movie last Friday played to a capacity crowd. The next Toonie Movie afternoon is Friday, March 25. Remember! Movie, popcorn, and drink for two dollars. Why not drop in, or stay at the Centre for lunch. Bagel with cream cheese or peanut butter, cup-of-soup, tea/ coffee and cookies served every day. Along with this, sandwiches are available on Tuesdays and a variety of hot soups with crackers on Thursdays. Looking forward to April and I see a very busy month starting with a joint Acton and Georgetown Dance to be held on Friday, April 8 at the Acton Legion from 7:30-11 p.m. Cost is $8 and tickets are available from Centre's office. Monday, April 11 at 1 p.m. we have the ever popular Alia/ Tan Jay Fashion Show. Tickets are $5 and now available at Reception. Because of its popularity, and the shortage of space, a limited number of tickets are available. This event is open to the public. Advance tickets only. None to be sold at the door. The same week, on Saturday, April 16, we hold our Pancake Breakfast of pancakes, sausages, real maple syrup, juice, coffee. All you can eat for $5. Bring the family and friends. Wednesday, April 20, is the date of the Mingle and Chat Auction. Wrap up a gift and bring it to be auctioned. Every purchase is a surprise and the highest bid is $5. All proceeds go towards the Centre. They are looking for more Bingo players on the first and third Monday of the month. The more players the higher the winning pots. Cards are 50 cents each.
