There was a badly crushed, likely human, skull but I couldn't work on it until the site was level. Finally, some long bones started to show up and they were definitely human. Not only that, but with the placement of the skull, the remains were articulated (essentially in normal body position). This was the first time such human remains had been located on this dig, so it was an important find. While we treated the remains with a great deal of respect, we were also curious as to just how they had come to be there, so we nicknamed him Bill, after the famous movie. Then we waited.
