4 Independent & Free Press, Tuesday,March 29, 2011 Man, 82, killed in Hwy. 7 crash An 82-year-old Eramosa man was killed in a collision on Hwy. 7 near Sixth Line between Rockwood and Acton Saturday afternoon. Dead is Gordon Ball of Eramosa Township. Wellington OPP report the collision occurred about 2:45 p.m. when a 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Ball east on Hwy. 7 attempted to turn left across the path of a 2001 Buick Century driven by Sarah Broeze, 20, of Guelph resulting in a head-on crash. A third vehicle received minor damage from debris caused by the impact. Broeze was taken to hospital and later released with minor injuries. Ball was dead at the scene. A post mortem was being done Monday. Hwy. 7 was closed in the area for four hours. Police are still investigating. Any witnesses are asked to call Wellington OPP at 519-856-1506.
