Cameron ends season Cousens turns pro It didn't take long for Georgetown's Deron Cousens to find a job upon finishing his studies at Michigan Tech University. The 24-year-old defenceman completed his four-year U.S. collegiate career with the Huskies last month and was then signed to a pro contract by the East Coast Hockey League's Florida Everblades, who are based near Fort Myers. Cousens finished his senior season at Michigan Tech tied for the lead in scoring with two goals and 19 assists in 38 games. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound business management major, who participated in the Washington Capitals' prospects camp a couple of years ago, was held pointless in the final six regular-season games for the Everblades and is listed as a reserve for the first round of ECHL playoffs this week against Kalamazoo.
