Flapjack fundraiser fills tummies By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre A great turnout for the Pancake Breakfast in spite of a cold, windy, rainy day. Because of the inclement weather, the cooking was done on the stove and fewer pancakes could be cooked at one time. We would like to thank you all for your patience under the circumstances. Bingo will continue on May 2, 16, and 30. That will be the last until September. Thanks to all the faithful Bingo supporters. It seems to be declining in participants. Perhaps those of you who play on a regular basis might try to get some others to join. As you are aware the more players the better the prizes. A strong interest has been shown in going to see Billy Elliot again. A second trip has been planned for October and will include lunch at The Old Mill. A signup sheet is at the Travel Desk. If you have any questions please call me, Florence, at 905873-210. I have now made arrangements to pick up in Acton and persons interested in travelling with The Day Trippers on any of our trips. These trips are, or should be, posted in the Acton Seniors Centre. It will be your responsibility to call me at the above number to get your name on the list or call to find out where and what we are doing. A little bird told me the ever popular Variety Show is planned for Monday, June 6. Now there is a date you want to mark on your calendar right now! More volunteers are need for the Social Program. These are the persons who look after the kitchen, social functions, and sandwich days. The load is lessened if we have a larger base to draw from. It is not an every day job and the pay is wonderful! How much you ask? The satisfaction that you have played a part in the operations of your Centre. 15 Independent & Free Press, Thursday, April 28, 2011 It's Time To Plant!
