Rout Milton in fifth game 7 Scoreboard · Georgetown & Acton, Thursday, April 28, 2011 Tyke Raiders cap series with lopsided 11-1 win Georgetown's Krause Family Re/ Max Realty Raiders prevailed over the Milton Winterhawks 3-2 in the best-of-5 Tri-County Minor Hockey Association's tyke AA championship series, chalking up an 11-1 win in the fifth-and-deciding contest. The Raiders weren't finished with their hardware harvest after winning the Tri-Counties, as they skated to a 4-0-0 record at the Orillia Tyke Festival, claiming the tourney title. The team also finished second at the Motown Cup event in January in Detroit. First Thursday of the month Seniors Day. Acton High School Athletes of the Week are Lucinda Kollenhoven and Mitchell Brake. Kollenhoven, a Grade 11 student, teamed up with mixed doubles' partner Justin Corbett to win their division at the recent Bishop Reding tournament. They also made the semifinals of the Halton finals. Brake, in Grade 11, went 3-2 in the boys' singles' division at the GHAC championships and also fared well at the Bishop Reding tourney. Georgetown District High School Athletes of the Week are Kerri Malcolm and Colton Wiens. Grade 11 student Malcolm plays the eight-man position on the Rebels' senior girls' rugby team and had a good match in an exhibition loss to Christ the King. Wiens is the Grade 12 goalie for GDHS's senior boys' soccer team, earning MVP honours for the Rebels at the Notre Dame tournament. Christ the King Athletes of the Week are Paul LaFleche and Ryan Kohler. Senior students LaFleche and Kohler have demonstrated strong leadership skills in preparing for the upcoming overnight camping trips in their Outdoor Education class to Rattlesnake Point in Milton this week and to Algonquin Park in May.
