Photo by Calvin Dyke Residents asked to share vision for town's future Area residents are invited to share their hopes and dreams for Halton Hills over the next 25-50 years by taking the Imagine Halton Hills Community Survey. The survey, which should only take about five minutes to complete, can be found at www.haltonhills.ca/sustainability. Those who take it have a chance to enter a draw for a dinner for two at a local restaurant. The survey being conducted by the Town Sustainability Advisory Committee, consisting of individuals and community partners who are committed to building a sustainable community. The results of the survey will help the committee prepare a Community Sustainability Strategy-- a blueprint for a path towards a more sustainable future-- one with a great quality of life for all. "As chair of the Town Sustainability Advisory Committee, I see the preparation of our Community Sustainability Strategy as a tremendous opportunity for the whole community to lend its voice to shaping a vision for what Halton Hills should look like in the next 25 or 50 years," said Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette. "It is through this unique community-driven, bottomup initiative that we will uncover what we value about our community and how we can make it sustainable, not only for our generation, but also for those that will follow us." The committee is made up of about 30 people-- including residents, business community representatives, councillors, youth, seniors, school boards, culture groups, various town committees and staff-- with each providing a voice for a specific aspect of the community. Watch for additional information over the coming months on the Community Sustainability Strategy.
