Georgetown Seniors' Centre to host SALT info session By FLORENCE RIEHL Georgetown Seniors Centre There has been considerable interest shown in our planned second trip to see Billy Elliot in October. Sad to say, it will not happen. The show has its final curtain on September 3. Thank you for your interest. S.A.L.T. Committee is hosting an information session, featuring guide dogs, on Tuesday, May 17 at 1 p.m. You will be able to purchase your lunch. Partnering Seniors is an organization sponsored by Community Living North Halton. Their goal is to unite seniors with disabilities and those without disabilities for fun, friendship and celebration of our abilities together. They are holding a `Seniors Appreciating Seniors' Day at our Centre on Monday, May 30. Here is an opportunity to learn what seniors can offer each other and learn from each other -- photography, yoga, computers, etc. Please sign up at the reception desk. The drama club has searched the outer limits to find the greatest variety of talent available for this evening. Circle that date on your calendar. This is a show not to miss! June is set aside as Seniors' Month and to celebrate we are having a celebration dinner on Friday, June 17, 5 p.m. Come out and enjoy roast beef on a kaiser, baked potato, salad, dessert, and tea/coffee for $15. On Thursday, June 23, 1-4 p.m. North Halton Injury Prevention will be at the Centre to give you the most up-to-date information about advanced driving techniques, current legislation and how it all directly impacts you, the driver of 70 years of age and up. There will be an opportunity to have your personal skills assessed if you wish, in the safety of a simulation driving machine. Pre-registration is required. Only 20 spaces available. May 20 is your last opportunity to sign up for our fabulous trip to Port Dover on June 22. Remember it is open to anyone 55+ and we will pick up in Acton. Wow! Lots of good information!
