Pine Cone Music is helping out the Georgetown Firefighters & The Big Chill to raise funds for the Georgetown Hospital's quest for a CT scanner by raffling three electric guitars-- one is signed by Dallas Green (of City & Colour and Alexisonfire), one by Sarah Guitar raffle to aid CT scanner project McLachlan and one by Blue Rodeo. Halton residents can purchase a rain barrel for $42, cash only, at any of the remaining truckload sales. Diverting water from a downspout into a rain barrel allows you to capture rain water and store it for future use to water gardens, shrubs and potted plants. Building upon the success of its Blue Box and GreenCart programs, Halton Region is exploring ways to further increase residential waste diversion to 65 and even 70 per cent! In consultation with the Joint Municipal Regional Waste Management Committee--a citizen's advisory committee--Halton Region has developed a Draft Solid Waste Management Strategy.
