The Regional Municipality of Halton No 32 Sid e Rd www.halton.ca Proposed Additions to Waste Collection Services in Rural Halton Hills Rural areas of Halton Hills affected by this proposal are shaded in green. We want to hear from you Halton Region is responsible for providing a sustainable solid waste management system to all Halton residents. In 2004, Halton Region implemented roadside Blue Box collection to all rural residents. At that time, roadside garbage collection in rural Halton Hills was also considered but not approved based on feedback from local residents. In 2008, the GreenCart program was implemented as it is collected in the same truck as the Blue Box material. Since 2008, many residents have inquired into the feasibility of receiving roadside garbage collection. As a result of these requests, the Town of Halton Hills has asked that Halton Region consider adding the same level of waste collection to rural Halton Hills that is provided in the other rural areas of Halton.
