Guide dog walk to be held Sunday On Sunday, May 29 Georgetown residents are doing their part to help change the lives of Canadians with disabilities by participating in the Purina Walk for Dog Guides. The Walk will take place at Lions Hall (42 Mill St.) with registration opening at 9 a.m. and the Walk starting at 9:30 a.m. As the largest fundraiser of its kind in Canada, the Walk helps provide funding to ensure Canadians with disabilities are able to receive a Dog Guide at no cost. One hundred per cent of the funds raised from the event go directly towards the five Dog Guide training programs at Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. This year there are some new contests and prizes for Walk participants, including rail travel, hotel stays, and travel point vouchers.
