24 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, May 26, 2011 Lobster and steak on the menu Friday Lobster lovers unite! It is time for the Kiwanis Club of Georgetown's annual Lobsterfest, which will be held at GDHS on Friday May 27 from 7-11 p.m. There is all-you-caneat lobster (fresh from the East Coast, cooked that day) and a huge steak barbecue. All the trimmings are included, such as baked potatoes, garlic butter, Caesar salad and dessert. This year raw oysters are being supplied and shucked by Toronto company Oyster Boy. The fun continues with a DJ and dance afterwards. The money raised will be used for the Kiwanis club's commitment of $160,000 towards the Kiwanis Community Field at Georgetown District High School. Already, the field is very well used by the entire community. You will have a great time helping Kiwanis support recreational facilities in our community. Tickets are $75 and are available by calling 905-8774411. The Regional Municipality of Halton No 32 Sid e Rd www.halton.ca Proposed Additions to Waste Collection Services in Rural Halton Hills Rural areas of Halton Hills affected by this proposal are shaded in green. We want to hear from you Halton Region is responsible for providing a sustainable solid waste management system to all Halton residents. In 2004, Halton Region implemented roadside Blue Box collection to all rural residents. At that time, roadside garbage collection in rural Halton Hills was also considered but not approved based on feedback from local residents. In 2008, the GreenCart program was implemented as it is collected in the same truck as the Blue Box material. Since 2008, many residents have inquired into the feasibility of receiving roadside garbage collection. As a result of these requests, the Town of Halton Hills has asked that Halton Region consider adding the same level of waste collection to rural Halton Hills that is provided in the other rural areas of Halton.
