Humane Society members back board decision to withdraw from OSPCA By LISA TALLYN Staff Writer Members of the Upper Credit Humane Society (UCHS) have voted unanimously not to reapply for affiliation with the OSPCA. The members voted at the annual general meeting of the UCHS in Georgetown Tuesday night, confirming the decision made by the organization's board earlier this year. There are 56 UCHS members-- 39 attended the meeting and cast their vote. "As a board we've always believed we made the right decision for the UCHS at this time," said UCHS board chair Kathy Yorke. "Our membership has endorsed our decision." The decision made by the board in February not to renew its Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) affiliation had angered some of the organization's volunteers and an animal control officer who has since resigned. Yorke said the decision not to renew the affiliation was based on finances.
