Sunday is Big DADDY Day in Glen Williams, with the Williams Mill hosting demonstrations and interactive workshops incorporating glass blowing, painting, and clay wheel throwing and carving. Other Glen activities include: a Strawberry Shortcake tea at St. Albans, walking tours, St. John's Service by the Credit, 57th annual Cemetery Memorial Service & lunch, as well as an antique boat display and Kids Paint-a-Boat hosted by the Beaumont Mill. Activities at the Willow Park Ecology Centre embrace a Native Drum Circle, Drum Making, Scavenger Hunt, Painting & Racing "Little Paddlers", and a "Paddle to the Sea" Canoe race for the adventurous. HIEC honours two local businesses Skilled trades employers were honoured, students were recognized and scholarships presented as the Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC) hosted the 11th annual Halton Apprenticeship Advisory Council's (HAAC) Honour Roll Awards recently at the Burlington Convention Centre. The HAAC Honour Roll Awards recognized five outstanding employers who are making a difference in Halton by promoting skilled trades. The winners included two Georgetown employers in the 50 Employees or Less category: · Luma Brothers Automotive & Truck Repairs Inc. · Red Lemon Hair Salon Over the last 11 years, more than 60 companies have been recognized at the Honour Roll Awards for their dedication to promoting skilled trades excellence in Halton Region.
