Eddie McGuin, 47, was facing the charge in connection with the Jan. 6 death of Rick MacLeod, 49, of Acton in a Mill St. W. apartment. Halton Crown attorney Brian O'Marra said there had been further investigation into the incident, including seeking further opinion on forensic pathology in the case. "The cause of death may not be attributed to what had gone on between the accused and the deceased," said O'Marra. McGuin's lawyer Brendan Neil said the charge was withdrawn because "the cause of death was completely unrelated to Eddie or any action he might have taken that night."
