Photo by Eamonn Maher NOTICE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT CHARGE BY-LAW THE HALTON CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TO BE HELD ON JUNE 21, 2011 AT 8:00 P.M Halton Catholic District School 802 Drury Lane, Burlington, Ontario The Halton Catholic District School Board proposes to amend the 2009 Education Development Charge By-Law (the "2009 By-law") that the Board passed on June 2, 2009. The schedule of education development charges imposed by the by-law is as follows: Charge on residential development: Charge on non-residential development: $821.00 per dwelling unit $0.23 per square foot ($2.48 per square metre) of gross floor area MULCH Red, Black, Gold, Cedar and Pine Delivery Is Available Coupon expires June 16, 2011. This coupon can not be used in conjunction with any other offer. $ 39 99 per yard The proposed amending by-law will increase the charge on residential development to $1,159.00 per dwelling unit and the charge on non-residential development to $0.32 per square foot ($3.44 per square metre) of gross floor area. The increase in the charge is due to an increase in the education land costs and servicing costs that the Board has incurred over those estimated when the 2009 By-law was passed. The 2009 By-law referred to above applies to all lands in the Region of Halton. Accordingly, a key map showing the location of the land subject to the said by-law is not provided as part of this notice. The Board will consider the proposed amending by-law at a public meeting to be held on June 21, 2011 at 8:00 P.M. in the Board Room of the Halton Catholic District School Board at 802 Drury Lane, Burlington, Ontario. All interested persons are invited to attend the public meeting. The Board would appreciate receiving written submissions one week prior to the public meeting, so they may be distributed to the trustees for their review prior to the meeting.
