Get ready for a great Father's Day in the Glen and Norval when The Big DADDY Festival bursts with exciting events for Dad and the whole family on Sunday June 19th. Here is just a taste of what the busy Big Daddy Festival committee has planned just for you! The Williams Mill will be presenting `Where Art Comes to Life' when all the artists will be on hand to talk about and explain their work. There will be demonstrations galore throughout the day, including interactive glass blowing, painting and pottery demonstrations. Come and have a great day with your family exploring art and its creation at the Williams Mill. Visit the gallery, and the studios of painters, wood carvers, sculptors, potters, illustrators, graphic artists, jewellery, clothing and leatherwork designers. And for the history buff in the family, there will be historic tours of the Mill. The Beaumont Mill Antique market has many fun family activities planned including: Kids Paint-aBoat, Cupcake Decorating, Antique Boat Display, and Boats-for-Folks. Tickets are now on sale for the Draw-for-a-Skiff taking place at 5 pm. When you're ready for a special treat, wander over to St Alban's church and have some yummy strawberry shortcake; The Glen Oven Bakery for a BBQ and a Triple Decker Daddy ice cream, or the Copper Kettle Pub for a cool drink and their Fathers Day menu! You can get in touch with Mother Earth by visiting the Big Daddy Festival in the Willow Park Ecology Centre where you can celebrate both Fathers Day and National Aboriginal Day by experiencing some traditions and customs of the original peoples of this land. Some of the special events include: Drum and Drum-Beater Making, a Native Drum Circle, a Scavenger Hunt and decorating and painting Little Paddlers. Both the Norval Pancake Factory and the San Francisco Baker will be featuring Father's day specials.
