Anderson gets UBC offer Continued from pg. 18 Another thrill for Anderson was the JNT's stay in Toronto on the Canada Day long weekend. The team caught a couple of games in the Blue Jays-Philadelphia Phillies series and stayed at the Rogers Centre hotel, while also getting in some practices on the turf. Along with his national team commitments, Anderson has had a busy schedule with the Ontario under-18 Terriers, playing in tournaments in Oklahoma, Nashville, New Jersey and two more in Syracuse this month. His next goal is to get invited to the JNT's next session in North Carolina in September, where a final roster of 20 players will be set for the World Junior Qualification Tournament in Cartagena, Colombia Sept. 23 to Oct. 2. From there, the top four countries will qualify for the 2012 World Junior Baseball Championship in Seoul, South Korea. "(Adam's) got a real good breaking ball that he throws for strikes, he locates his fastball and mixes in a change-up -- and when you locate and mix, you've got a chance," Hamilton said on Baseball Canada's website. Heading into his final year of high school, Anderson is already fielding scholarship bids from universities on both sides of the border. The University of British Columbia has offered a letter of intent for him to sign. "It's an exciting process and I'm just trying to find the right fit. I'll probably make a decision in a month or two." 19 Independent & Free Press, Thursday, July 21, 2011 The Georgetown Mustangs took top spot in the boys' under-10 division at a tournament in Whitby, defeating all five teams they faced.
