Get ready to ride! Stay Safe this Summer Please remember to stay safe this summer and wear a lifejacket, or personal floatation device, if you are heading out onto the water. Lifejackets have been saving lives for hundreds of years with the first recorded history of use by Norwegian seamen who used simple blocks of wood. We've come a long way since then, and today materials used in flotation devices are lighter, stronger and more comfortable to wear. Remember, a lifejacket will buy you vital time in the water and could save your life, but only if you're wearing it! Learn more about the importance of wearing a lifejacket or other safe boating practices at the Canadian Safe Boating Council (CSBC) and www.SmartBoater.ca. Thank You The Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association (GHVA) would like to thank the Norval United Church for providing a venue for this year's Strawberry Social. The volunteers greatly appreciated everyone who came out to support this fundraising event. Proceeds raised will go towards the GHVA's $250,000.00 pledge to Georgetown Hospital's expansion of the Emergency Department and renovations to the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
