Event set for Sunday Leathertown Festival will go `Back to Acton Days' This year will mark the 20th year of the Leathertown Festival and organizers are going back to their roots. The Festival, which is set for Sunday, is going "Back To Acton Days" and will feature a Calithumpian parade. A Calithumpian parade is something that was held during Back To Acton Days and it is a loud, boisterous parade where participants are encouraged to bring their pots and pans and dress up in a zany outfit and join the parade. The parade will start at 11:30 a.m. at both ends of the Festival-- Main Street and Eastern Avenue. Participants will march from each end to the main stage in the United Church parking lot in time for the opening ceremonies at noon. To celebrate the occasion, a cake will be served at the main stage after the opening ceremonies. The entertainment this year will be a tribute show featuring, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Neil Diamond and of course Elvis Presley. There will also be a tribute to Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber. Acton's very own Li'l Bautista (aka Curtis Hopkins) will also be on hand. Stop by the Acton BIA booth and get his autograph. In the Kids Zone the internationally famous Stylamanders will be performing as well as the McGinley Academy of Irish Dance. Don't forget to sign up for the Dominos pizza eating contest and the Global Pet Food dog show all happening at the Kids Zone. There will be a host of vendors and be sure to visit downtown restaurants and try their food and refreshments.
