10 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, August 4, 2011 Riders to hit the road August 21 Motorcycle Dice Run to aid CT scanner fund Motorcyclists are encouraged to come out for a fun ride that will raise money for Georgetown Hospital's CT scanner Sunday, Aug. 21. Registration for the Georgetown Hospital Foundation Dice Run will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the parking lot at FreshCo, 325 Guelph St. The ride will finish at 4 p.m. The entry fee is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers. At registration, each planned stop along the route and the end of the ride participants will be given the opportunity to roll the dice. Individual scores are accumulated and those with the highest and lowest score will be recognized. There will also be a 50/50 draw and barbecue held at the end of the ride at the Masonic Lodge in Georgetown. All participants will be entered in a draw for two Air Canada tickets to anywhere in North America the airline flies. The Glen Riders Motorcycle Club will serve as road captains on the route. Each rider is asked to get sponsors for his/her ride. Organizers Tom Money, Phil Hansen and George Power are hoping to raise $5,000 through the run. They urge everyone to support the worthy cause by taking part in the Dice Run-- or sponsoring someone who is.
